Fethiye is centered on fertile soil and its name is Fethiye Plain. Fethiye is surrounded by large mountains that it calls the Mendus and Papada Mountains. You can find the city among the huge mountains. Fethiye is located on 931.55 square meters.
Fethiye has a long coastal length of about 168 km. Fethiye has an important island with a large number. 180 islands are located in a different part of the sea and can be seen from the city center. The most famous islands of Fethiye are Tersan, Katransi, Karakoren and Shuvalli.
Fethiye has typical Mediterranean climate features. The summer season is dry, dry and long with an average of 34 degrees.
Winters are cold and rainy. Average Celsius is 16 degrees on a normal day. Fethiye is covered with dense forest and a special plant called “Maki” at a rate of 72%.
Boat tours to islands and bays
Fethiye has 18 different islands located in the western part of the city across the northwest, respectively. One of the fun activities in the area is touring the gorgeous islands.
You can take part in the wonderful tours that are organized once a day. The tour starts at 10 AM and continues until sunset.
The Sheep Islands (GEMİLER ADASI)
Sheep Island is located 9 km from the city center and is located near the province of Oludeniz. After the fifth century BC it became an extremely important island for both religious and commercial.
Both Europe and the eastern Mediterranean countries gave special attention to the island due to its ambiguous meanings. After the archaeological excavations carried out in 1990, 11 churches have been discovered on the island. So it gives a special meaning for Christians.
Leighton
Researchers have shown that Leyton County was built in the 7th century BC. Leyton was used as a religious area for the Lycian civilization during ancient times.
The Letoon Zone contains the Museum of Rome, a drinking tap, and the Apollo monastery and temples. He also reckoned the Temple of Lu Toya in the Lytton region and the temple was dedicated to Mother Apollo. Added to the Letoon temple area the UNESCO World Heritage List.
